I am attempting to do module 4 - Mr X, and woo how do you get a 2000 word count out of this! I feel I am "filling" between sentences :(
Can anyone tell me which books I should be reading from the reading list because I keep getting pulled up for not explaining which books I've read on what subject etc. I'm doing three different courses at the same time and I have read so many books I've lost track!
I think I get that Mr X is lacking in self esteem etc and I can formulate a therapy plan, however I am struggling with a proposed treatment schedule, ie how many sessions.
Thanks in advance for any help!
The modules change each year,
The modules change each year, so I'm not clear which one you are referring to.
If you can give some more info as to what they are asking for, I'd be happy to recommend some books.

I did this essay not so long
I did this essay not so long ago! 2000 words is achievable if you pad the history a little of his issue. I too can't remember the exact details....I think it's the one where he has an elderly mother who often criticises him and he would like to go for a position at work but is too self conscious...? Correct me if I'm totally wrong!
I suggest 4 - 6 sessions for any type of problem that's either confidence/self esteem or anxiety. You need to show you are good at digging deeper on this one! Mention that you have asked lots of questions about his relationship with his mother. Essential to use the phrase "ethical therapist" in your essays regarding whatever it is you're talking about!! Remember to look on the Internet for quotes to back you up, I didn't always quote books...I found he reading list was dry and VERY boring personally. Remember, if you quote from the Internet you need to give the full website address.
The other thing I did often was go onto google, type in the subject and hit "google books" this brings up book excerpts to do with the subject! You can pretend you've read loads by quoting the book title & author in this way ;)

Module 4 case study
I am writing this one at the moment. I think that you have to explore the possible underlying issues, and ethically decide whether vou are the correct person to help. There appears to be many issues here, self-esteem, lack of confidence, fear of social interaction, perhaps a fear of responsibility. He is looking to his mother for respect and feels that he has not succeeded, so there are perhaps deeper psychological issues including that he has not grown up.
If you deal with his desire to succeed at work alone and refer him to a psychologist to discuss his deeper issues, is that ethical?
I think this discussion and an in depth description of the initial consultation will give me enough for 2000 words.
Also always try to quote from the Chrysalis handouts, as well as books and internet. Suggest looking at the suggested screeds for self esteem.
Cheers let you know how it goes!
